Participating to a stage of the Giro or the TdF or to a Classica, is not “just” a ride, it is an epical moment on the bike that you will remember for the rest of your life.
The Atmosphere
Streets and windows of the shops are all decorated in pink, all the stores close when the pros are supposed to come by.
Entire towns get out of their homes to watch the pros, blankets on the grass, thermos with water or hot coffee, the “Gazzetta dello Sport”, the historic pink newspaper, open on the cycling page, to read which numbers each pro will have on his back so you can recognize them, and read about their history, the predictions of the winner of the day. “È una Festa”.
The Riding Part
The route of the stage is packed of fans, colorful banners and cheering chalk art on the asphalt. You can ride part of the stages on free traffic roads, encouraged by the incitements and screams of the patrians.
The Watch
Pro-cycling event is something that you have to see it to believe it.
You stand on the side of a road, you wait, you wait, then at a certain point, you hear the rumbling of the helicopter announcing the arrival of the peloton. An incredible roar diffuses for the whole mountain, you hear the screaming of the fans rising, you feel goosebumps on your skin, then the cyclists arrive, like a colorful breeze, and crawl into your eyes.
It’s magic!
Amateur Cycling Events can also be
an unforgettable cycling experience
For the amateur cycling events the roads are packed by thousands cyclists like you. In case of the Sella Ronda or the Stelvio Bike, the roads are close to traffic, the view is spectacular: the 48 switchbacks of the Stelvio, or the 33 switchbacks of the Pordoi pass, become a colorful serpentine of only cyclists.
My clients, who participated to my 2010 tour in the Dolomites, still remember the Sella Ronda as their most memorable day on the bike.
It is epical especially if you chose it, you planned for it, you designed as you wanted it, you trained for it. I want to inspire you and help you to build your own epical moment.
