The five stages I chose
to partially ride on the same day of the race and watch the pros coming by, have these 5 characteristics:
- 4 are hill top finish.
- 1 is a sprint finish on flat.
- 2 have 5 stars as type of difficulty, both are on the last week and one of them is the Queen Stage.
- One includes, the Stelvio Pass, the highest road in Italy and one of the most scenic ascent and mountain where to see the pro-peloton to come by.
- One is the Queen Stage, “Tappone Dolomitico”, and it is one of the last two decisive stages
Here they are:
- Stage 2 – Sunday May 5 – Top Finish – Arrival at the Top of Santuario di Oropa – Biella (TO)
- Stage 4 – Tuesday May 7 – Sprint Finish – Arrival in Andora (SV)
- Stage 15 – Sunday May 19 – Top Finish in Livigno (Sondrio)
- Stage 16 – Tuesday May 21 – Stelvio Pass as a intermediate climb of the day
